The Chicago Blackhawks have announced that the team has re-signed goaltender Spencer Knight to a three year extension with an average annual value (AAV) of $5.83M.
Knight, 24, player 38 games last season with both the Blackhawks and the Florida Panthers, posting a 2.72 goals against average, and a .902 save percentage.
He was traded to Chicago before the trade deadline as part of the Seth Jones trade to Florida. Chicago received Knight, as well as Florida’s 2026 1st round pick.
The former 13th overall pick had previously set a Florid Panthers record for most wins by a rookie goaltender with 19 during the 2020-21 NHL season. In February 2023, Knight entered the NHL/NHLPA player assistance program, causing him to miss the remainder of that year and all of the 2023-24 season.
